Body Ecologies

I. Mary Hurrell, 30 Enero

II. Paul Maheke, 17 Abril

III. Louisa Martin, 26 Mayo

Auditorio Centro Botín.
Muelle de Albareda, s/n.
39004, Santander.

fluent and Centro Botín are pleased to announce Body Ecologies, a cycle of performances exploring the interdependence between the human body and connective technologies.

Throughout the first semester of 2018, the program will present new commissions by Mary Hurrell, Paul Maheke and Louisa Martin, a group of artists interested in forms of perception that transcend the use of language. In their respective performances, they  induce emotional and physiological states through the interrelation of body, image and sound.

Body Ecologies proposes to rethink those conditioning factors that define the experience, focusing on the unfolding of sensory, affective and sub-linguistic frameworks. Through the work of these artists, the cycle investigates atypical forms of corporality and alternative modes of perception. Thus, the three performances question what it means to have a body, a question that could be potentially transferred through experiences that are not part of the standard systems of representation.
